My broken patella was tied up with a wire by the orthopedic in an operation. As a result my leg was straightened in a plaster of Paris (POP) for more than 8 weeks. The POP was then removed but the knee became stiff- refusing to bend.
I started attending physiotherapy sessions regularly for more than four months but knee only slightly bends. Later, my attendance at the physiotherapy sessions became irregular for three months.
My problem is that my leg is still straight, the knee refusing to bend due to the stiffness.
Now I am told that I need a minor operation to remove the wire tying up my patella and then the orthopedic will use force to bend the knee. Is it OK to do so? Will it solve my problem?
