I tore my first ACL in 1984 racing motocross. I tried unsuccessfully to ride motocross for years using conventional braces (CTi's). I've injured my knees with and without braces.
I took a 5 year break from racing motocross and followed my father and older brother's footsteps becoming an Engineer.
I attempted to race again after college using a CTi brace on my left leg and a Don Joy brace on my right, but eventually I had to quit when my loose knees kept dislocating. Since then I've had 6 knee surguries including 3 ACL reconstructions.
After 10 years of not riding Motocross at all I began riding just for fun again at the age of 34 with CTI's on both knees. Unfortunately I ended up having surgeries number 5 & 6 (6 being an ACL revision).
Frustrated not being able to enjoy the sport I loved I developed a knee brace that not only allows me to ride motocross again, but actually can prevent knee injuries.
