I'm a fifteen year old kid whose ACL was torn in May of 2007. In August of 2007 I had arthroscopic surgery with a donor graft. In September of 2008 I was released and a week after surgery my knee gave out. I went back to My Orthopedist and he assured me that the graft was tight and everything was intact. I started to gradually work my way back into sports, but just before my fall track season begun my knee gave out again, preventing me from joining the team. As a result I decided to be scorekeeper for the baseball team who I had friends on. Halfway through the season I was riding the bus home. I turned around while kneeling in the bus seat and sat down with my right knee folded under me. It gave out. I have to put the tibia back into the knee whenever this happens and it has happened about once a week since then, sometimes much more until a few weeks ago when I decided to really do something about it. Up until then I had not done a lot of exercising, more of spot exercising. When I had time I would go run a mile of do plyo's until I was tired. Now I began to run, lift for upper body, and play basketball several hours a day. This started on June 25 2008, and seemed to work great! Until today, July 17, less than a month later when I was playing a pickup game of basketball against my friends and it gave out again. i just saw my doctor and had an MRI the 16th, and the week before I had talked to a physical therapist who said the graft was the same strength as on the other leg and that I have loose joints. I don't want to do this the rest of my life and have dreams of playing in the NBA someday. I just came to this site to see what is wrong with me and if there is anything I can do to fix it. That is EVERYthing I know, except that I can describe what it feels like when It gives out and how it happens, but for some reason when I go to PT tomorrow, I have a feeling all they'll say is that the graft feels strong. I begging you to help me.
