I'm had ACL reconstruction and menisectomy on my right knee, Thursday, March 23, 2006. I originally tore the ACL about 12 years ago, and with lots of PT gained the strength and stability I needed. In June, 2005 I fell during a firefighting drill competition. Even with my brace on my knee hyperextended and I went down. This ended up tearing the meniscus and causing extreme pain and lots of instability. I have a 4 1/2 year old daughter and worry about being able to take care of her needs as well as my own.
