Hey! I'm a 21 F from 'da rock. That's right....Newfoundland. The land of rock and of course, snow. Took advantage of that snow there last year (feb.2004) while on a skiing trip and found myself falling fabulously straight down the hill landing in front of the lodge. I must've been labelled 'wipe out of the day' by the Lodge's patrons, because man oh man...what a sight they must've saw.
Anyways, I blew out my ACL and had a grade II MCL tear. I spent the rest of the year wearing my brace, and avoiding the surgery. And you know what??--I had the best year of my life and I owe most of it to my busted knee (there's a long story in that as well---obviously). Go figure!
Anyways, bike got stolen there in November 2004,had to walk everywhere and it made me realize how badly I needed the operation. So I set my doom date for Jan.17th 2004. Had ACL reconstruction with Pateller Autograft. Great so far!!
Wish you all the best of luck with your situations, I beleive that things all happen for a reason, may take a while to figure out what that reason is but when you do, it may be worth the trouble. Happy Healing!!

May 19th/05...
4 Months post-op, slipped on ice and stretched my new graft. OS now says that I have an endpoint when he performs the anterior drawer and chances are i'm just after stretching the graft. However, nothing is ever for certain and I won't find out till the fall when I go in for arthroscope surgery. Better news than what I thought tho'! Woohoo!
