I injured my knee playing soccer on 11/16/2008. MRI revealed a completely torn ACL, grade 2 MCL tear, several meniscal tears (radial and lateral), LCL sprain and a tibial plateau fracture. After almost 8 weeks on crutches for the fracture, I'm now rebuilding the muscles and trying to figure out what to do next. I'm 53 yrs old and have no insurance, although the league will pay a very small amount towards my medical expenses. My doctor is suggesting I wait on surgery (probably because I have no insurance)and that I may not be able to play sports any longer (partially due to my age) however, I want to get back to playing soccer. Am I being totally unreasonable?
