I'm 22 yr old female with a wonderful history of knee-injurees. It all started in '99 when I hurt my left ankle and had to be on crutches for just a week. This my knees could not handle, and strted hurting, I was doing gymnastics at the time, and the knees were really bothering me, so I went to an OS, he sent me to an MRI and then I he did an ortoscopy on my right knee, cause it was worse, and found some tear on the Lateral meniscus. I was doing ok, my knee was never good afterwards cause I got some orthofibrosa. Then 10.8.01 monday morning, I was in school, first I had sports, where poof my left knee gave in, after 2 mri's and 6 weeks of a locked knee, the verdict came. Total ACL, cartilage damade, pulled MCL, bone bruise and the back part of my lateral meniscus had been kicked forward and lied next to the front, stopping my knee movements. Had 2 Oscopes in nov and january, and lots and lots of fibrosa, so it wasnt unti may, I could really bend and extend my knee. At first I only had about 20° flex and ex, it slowly increased. I was so happy when 1 year after my injury I could do some sports, I havent had an reconstruction on this knee cause the fibrosa keeps my knee from giving in. Now after this my knees weren't great, but usable, so in summer of '04, after a year abroad, I wanted to get back into gymnastics. On my 3dr day back, june 10th to be exact, I go on my favorite event, trampoline, and do a summersault, hop, hop, hop, pop goes my right knee, I know right away, so I go to the emergency room with all my previous papers, so they'll belive me this time. And I was right, ACL gone and a bit of a pull on the medial meniscus. This time there was hardly any fibrosa so my kne was givin in anytime, sometimes whe I caused it, sometimes just to bother me, so on January 27th I had a hamstring reconstruction, and today, 7 months later, my knee is fine. First my recovery was by the book or even better, then at the end of march when I began using it more it flared up. I have some fibrosa still, but given my knee-history I am quite happy with it. I have a pretty scar, it looks just like a smiley :/ two scope holes and the line where he took the hamstring-graft. Oh I should say I changed my OS between my 2nd and 3rd OP, and the one I have now is an expert who handles the pro athletes in my city.
