A little history on my left knee. While playing volleyball about 14 years ago (age 19 I believe) I injured my ACL. The treatment was to remove it. At that time the doctor said if i injured my knee again I would have to have it reconstructed. My knee has never really been stable since the surgery. When performing an activity that requires side to side motion or spinning around it feels like it's going to give out; it has popped out during some of these times, I usually just pop it back in. Also at times when I'm on my knees it will pop out.

Well about 2.5 weeks ago I injured my knee again playing basketball. I was moving side to side when this happened. Had an MRI done and the results showed some tears in the meniscus and some other things. I can bend my knee with pain but I can not straighten it all the way. I'm going to try and post the report.

I'm hoping that someone can tell me what all of this means. Also looking for some advice on the best course of action, what questions to ask my doctor etc., should I have an ACL constructed (not sure that I'm using the right terms), will it ever function right with the proper treatment etc.?

Thank you all in advance for your help!

Marie
