Embarked on ACL adventure in a pickup soccer game Aug. 13, 2002. Totally noncontact injury - just landed hard on my right leg. Surgery Sept. 30. Outpatient surgery under spinal anaesthesia - ACL allograft and medial meniscus excision.
May 2003 - Back to playing easy noncontact soccer (that is, no hard tackles) at 7 months post-op. Knee feels so normal I often forget I was injured. Except for my long shot going missing and being a few steps slower sprinting, I rarely think about my knee when I play.
