My name is Patrick Wirth. I'm 32 years old living in Madison, Wisconsin. I tore my ACL in an alumni basketball tournament. That same weekend my wife and I moved into our new house. I know, great timing!
Initially I was quite depressed, not so much that I hurt my knee but that I couldn't help my wife with chores around the house. It killed me watching her shovel the driveway by herself after a foot of snow fell. I was unable to paint or work on any of the projects we had so enthusiastically chatted about.
Then I stumbled upon this board. It has been a blessing. I think the greatest support we can give each other is encouragement and it's evident others feel the same way. My surgery is a month away. I'm very anxious to begin physical therapy. I look forward to the challenge that lies ahead.
