Going in for ACL surgery on 3/23/2007 with an autograft----patella. Was skiing at Mammoth Mountain on my last run (Rollercoaster) a month and a half ago and oops! Despite good bindings, the ski didn't come off and torqued my leg. Getting skied down the mountain by ski patrol was humbling. The ER experience helped me appreciate that this was not the end of the world --- there were a lot of people in a lot worse shape than I was. Lesson: Always wear a helmet!!! Looking forward to getting the surgery over with and getting on the road to recovery. Hoping to be back skiing next season (and having better snow!).
