Left Knee replacement surgery 11 January 2008 followed by Right knee replacement surgery on 13 May 2008. Normal post op rehabilitation progress for 70 year old male through 30 July. In both cases was able to achieve 125 to 135 degrees flexibility and straight leg.
Two days later after doing same rehab physical therapy routine left knee exhibited moderate pain and right minor discomfort. Ice, rest and continued professional PT followed. Reduction in discomfort occurred for awhile about three weeks. Symptoms now are loss of ability to achieve straight leg or that any time I sit or do not walk, left knee hamstrings area very painful until I can stretch it out. Can get some relief by walking, but level of pain initially is still in 8-9-10 range. At the suggestion of therapist began restricted use of rehab routine which seems to have aggravated it.
Recent X-rays and cat scan reveals nothing for surgeon to correct. Suspect torn or damaged scar tissue is restricting ability to move leg and knee. Request comments.
