Have had seven or eight surgeries, dating back to 1988, mostly meniscus repairs or debridements. Had ACL (allograft)done in 2004, but surgeon missed a torn posterolateral complex, which ultimately caused the ACL graft to fail. Now, three years later, I have increasing levels of lateral instability that is causing pain in both the lower leg (ankle, foot) and hip. I find that when I wear my acl brace, the pain decreases substantially. Trying to figure out if I should discuss possible repairs with a surgeon (Bay Area, SF).
