My son had a terrible triad plus a torn meniscus, cartilage cracking and bone bruising. We choose to have his knee repaired in Europe using artificial ligaments. He walked out of the hospital on the 2nd day without crutches or a brace. Was back playing varsity sports 4 weeks post-op. Biggest problem was getting back full flexion(he had been in a cast for his mcl for 6 weeks)before surgery. He had very little swelling, took pain pills for 3 days but we were out sightseeing. Had a hard time finding a PT who was aggressive enough. Finally used a sports trainer and that was great. He has not had any knee issues in the past 2 1/2yrs. Besides football, he runs track, plays basketball, snowboards everything he wants. His D-1 coaches don't know that he had a major knee injury--
