I just ran across your post. My son tore his acl playing soccer 19 mos. ago. He did PT for 8 weeks and did play in a national tourny with his club team wearing a brace. He did not enjoy it and was not anywhere near his previous level. He could feel his knee "slip" every now and then. He had surgery the day after the tourney and was back in 4 months. He actually started practicing again lightly (no cutting) at 3 months and tried out for and made his state ODP team at 4 months. His "comeback" is still evolving, though. Just this fall, almost a year after surgery, did he start to look more like his former self. I don't know how it works with a partial tear and the timing really does suck. Is your daughter a sophomore or a junior? Still, if she needs the surgery, it won't help her performance in the long run to not get it. Don't forget...she can always do a PG year!
