In Response To: skiing without an ACL? (megan nyc)

Everyone who reads my posts must first click on my usen name and read my profle.

Two stage revision? That is very popular in New York City and in Los Angeles, especially amongst the sports medicine gurus who have their own Gulfstreams. In Middle America where the cost of living isn't so high, and we docs live a middle class life, it can all be done in one stage.

For example I have done at least 300 one stage revisions, sometimes there is a big hole in the bone, but since I use fixation located on the outside of the bone, a one stage operation works just fine. I can't say I have ever done or seen the need to do a two stage operation for bone grafting the hole which came about even from the first bothched operation.

Skiing, most of my ACLless patients do fine on greens and easy blues.
