ACL

I just wanted to thank every one for all the information and advice. I will give you a little bit of history.
On Dec. 3, 2006, I tore my ACL in a judo competition 6 hours away from home. I got my ACL reconstruction surgery on Dec. 15 of the same month. After my surgery, there was not a day that went by that my think about my knee. There was always something that didn’t feel right, but I was running and even completed a triathlon on Sept. 30 2007 (granted it was a half hour slower than my 2006 results).
I started to play some judo slowly and was going full out stand up fighting last Tuesday, March fourth of this year (2008) when there was an outward force applied to the inside of my right knee and it gave way and made two pops. The first thing I thought about was my ACL, but I was able to walk on it right a way and it didn’t swell up until Thursday of the same week. I got an MRI on Friday and the results were, "There is an ACL reconstruction that appears disrupted with an irregular course and increased signal."
So now it’s today, I see the Doctor tomorrow and am ready to accept the worst, but still wishing for the best. I am preparing to start exercising to get my right leg ready for another surgery. The first surgery wasn’t really that bad. What I really didn’t like was all the lost time. Mostly the time added to the clock as my body was bed ridden for a few weeks and I couldn’t exercise normally. After my first surgery, physical therapy seemed like a joke. I didn’t even break a sweet even after the fifth week. So, I’m definitely going to find a new physical therapist.
Any questions that I should ask my doctor tomorrow would be helpful. You know, questions that people wished they asked but didn’t.
Any suggestions for a faster recover (I think, I see a post about that).
Has anyone gone throw two surgeries? Are there any more complications on your second surgery?
Any diet recommendations?
Thanks for this site and the support. Especially Michael Frind, who took the time to look at some of my MRI scans, suggested this site, and answered a lot of my questions.
Sincerely,
Donald Stump
