In Response To: Re: Chronic swelling in allograft knee (drmark)

I had them (the doctor's office) try to dig a little deeper, but they don't seem to be getting any answers EXCEPT for that the lab does not nor have they ever used ethylene oxide.

From my perspective, this means this issue is resolved, unless you know of another sterilization method that is causing similar problems as ethylene oxide.

My next course of action is to spend the next 6 months really getting back into shape (I'm not so far out, but could use some work), and to lose some weight (I'm 5'8" and weigh 155 lbs).

I don't really know if I should even return to my OS- I don't see anything that he can do with the exception of a cortizone shot. I've had one of those already a couple of years ago and it didn't make any difference. Do you or anyone out there have any suggestions of what to have my OS look into?

Thanks again for the great input, and I look forward to your responses.

Patti
