Believe you will need to give more details as to background leading up to your 6th day. For example, it is normal for many to get a tingling sensation in the leg upon standing after sitting or laying down for awhile (during these early days after the operation). This is generally the swelling, etc that causes this. So...not exactly sure of the details of your discomfort. Also, you do not mention if you are still taking your pain meds regularly. there may be some that stop after a few days but most probably are taking the strong pain med prescriptions for at least 7-8 days maybe longer and then shift to Tylenol, etc. How about you ? Also, it is normal for the leg/knee area to be warm to the touch during this healing period but if you run a fever generally over 101F, the OSs usually want you to call them so they can assess your situation. Also, you do not give any details as to what you do during the day - Are you to do basic exercises, nothing, keeping the leg elevated, etc info.

if you have a lot of swelling, this could feel like the skin is about to "rip off", so not sure if that is what is your issue - Are you using ice/cold compresses.

The early period is also one of a lot of doubts that creep in and sometimes it is best to just call the OSs office and discuss your concerns. they sometimes will have you come in earlier than scheduled to check things out and sometimes it is just the reassurance from the doc that things are normal and some guidance that is all that is needed. It's Wednesday right now...if things are really bad news, rcmd call the OS today so he can possibly see you before you have to wait thru the weekend being concerned with what you have indicated....in your posting.
