Kai, I am also glad to hear Michael's comments. There is a 10yr study out there published by Dr. Georg Barisani that I have not been able to find an English copy of. The Japanese are also beginning a long-term study. I think that it is a very unfair and biased statement to say that the study was done to merely sell a product. Please go to the LARS France website or the website sponsored by Corin Group. These are very professional people who , yes, have a product to market but are reputable and honest. Thank goodness that they decided to continue research into artificial ligaments when the US stopped. The study is not perfect, artificial ligaments are not perfect but judging by the sheer number of absolute horror stories on this page alone, anything done to repair knee injuries is also very far from perfect. There are 1000's of people who choose LARS to repair their knees every year. I would hope that some of them would post on this site to discuss their experiences-good or bad. But , as you well know, the postings are generally from people who are having either pre-op or post-op difficulties. I would never choose anything but LARS if anyone in my family needed a ligament repair again....studies or not.
