I tore my right acl and as far as bruising is concerned my symptomps are pretty similar (contusions in the lateral tibial plateau). See here: http://www.factotem.org/cgi-bin/kneebbs.pl/read/326664

I still have some pain in the back of my knee 2 months after the ACL reconstruction. However, I believe it's getting better. Clicking of the knee is the only problem I have at the moment.

Bruising will take a while to heal. Keep doing the PT and ice it regularly so that the swelling will go away.
