As usual, Mr. Friend has provided a comprehensive and detailed analysis that seems right on. I have never seen anyone compete with a torn ACL in any sport at a high level for very long. Finish a season...yes, start and finish a season...not in myu experience. Unless you are making millions and finishing a season, its not worth the risk. Check out Dennis Dixon collapsing in his first quarter of playing without an ACL last year...it was hard to watch.
Good luck in any decision you make. Your doc is the one you should listen to, but ask him all the questions you have seen raised on this site.
