I know Dr. Paulos well and respect his opinions. However, his opinon is in the minority amongst physicians who regularly care for NFL players. If you do a search, you will find that the vast majority of NFL players have an autologous bone tendon bone repair. The guys who seem to operate on the most pro ball players such as Dr. Jim Andrews, and Dr. Don Shelbourne, (the 12 year old's doc and also the guy who taught me everthing I know) as well as many, many others only use autograft patella tendon.
Last, beyond the fact that Mr. Palmer survived his operation and returned to football we have no idea as to whether or not Mr. Palmer's knee is loose or tight or whether or not he is pleased with the outcome.
