Don't replace the knee, son. Good ROM, RSD unlikely. Get a workup for infection(also unlikely but important to rule out) MRI to assess the articular cartilage and possible associated 'bone bruise'. Be ready to go for an auto OATS. Rehab the ACL, DO NOT REPEAT DO NOT redo the ACL at the time of the OATS. If you're grossly unstable we can argue the point. In my experience often a microfracture leads to more pain, at least for a while. For the record I think the Steadman picks are the worst designed instruments since the Lenox Hill brace. I perform MF with a 2 mm burr or k-wire. That's what my OS used on my MF. It hurt for two months. You should feel better by now. Yeah, an OATS using your own bone may be the ticket. Don't beg for a TKR. You just might meet an OS willing to do it.
