I am completely in aggreement with Drtdel that the last thing you need is a total knee. Where I am not sure if I agree is that the pain from failed MF, or some cartlage problem just isn't so intense. The drama you describe could be infection, as the doc said, but also it could be Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. You should have that looked into first.

Since you have not ACL, does the knee give out or give way?
