Knee scope

I am 8 months out of and ACL reconstruction with a hamstring graft. I still have alot of pain behind my knee and I can't run at all without pain back there. My Doc thinks I tore my cartilage and is sending me back for another MRI. I haven't done anything to tear it. Is this normal to tear your cartilage during rehab?
