Microfracture concerns

I just read through the lengthy discussion about another member's horrible experience with acl and microfracture (so sorry you are suffering) and I am rather alarmed! I had a meniscus removal (small piece) and bakers cyst taken out this morning. OS saw arthrhetis behind knee cap and medial so he did microfracture surgery. I don't know anyhting about the procedure and was pretty out of it when he was explaining it - -does anyone have any success stories? Can anyone offer any advice on rehab or things to do/avoid? My OS said I could return to running a basketball in 3 months (I'm 42 very active and in good shape) ANY INSIGHT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! thanks
