Dr Mark -Question for you

Hi - I'm just asking for some info from you. Here's my history - 1999 acl repair. Strictly an acl. 14 months later a suspected torn meniscus (in the same left knee). Dr went in for a trim and came out saying the condile surface was peeling off like and orange peel comes off an orange. Had to do a microfracture. 2 years later another Microfracture. 1 yeaylater a cleanout and in 2004 the last microfracture - all 5 operations on the left knee. Full of osteoarthritis. (Had a rotator cuff fixed in 2006 and the shoulder was found to be bone on bone @ that time also - microfractured that also.)
I believe this is a genetic condition due to my dad having 2 bad knees by the age of 45 - 50.
I'm an active guy - ex-national level judo player (cut short because of the knee), workout 6x a week, bike , surf and am about 6'2 @ 200 lbs @ 40 years old - just to give you some idea on my activity and fitness level.
Now my question - what else can I do nutritionally, activity, or anything else to get past all this joint deteriation. I know you do not endorse the microfracture option. Just want to hear what you have to say. Thank you for your time.
Rick
