I've very depressed, and it's due to an ACL/microfracture surgery basicly pretty much ruining my life. Before May 2007 I could walk fine and had little/no pain, but did have pain if I ran, so was given microfracture surgery. This left me in so much pain, that I have depended on cructhes for the past year. In June 2008 I was given an HTO, in hopes that it would allow me to walk again, but it has not relieved any pain, and actually made things worse. I have done nerve blocks and other treatments to help with the pain with no or little results.

So now, I have no options but walk on crutches, and since my "good leg" has been taken the lion's share of the load it too is starting to break down and cause me pain.

I don't think a TKR is a good option, but I seem to have no options. If I can walk for the next 10 years then I'm willing to take the chance of amputantion, etc, versus just being on cruthces in this condition for the next 10-15 years
