I do everything I did before. It took about 18 months, but the first flying side kick I did felt amazing... I was floating on air.
I don't know why those doctor's don't want to do a reconstruction. Have you had an MRI? Do you definitely have a ruptured ACL? If you have a ruptured ACL and your knee is unstable and you want to stay at or near pre-injury levels of activity than you need a reconstruction.

Have you been to a sports medicine specialist? That might be the way to go.
