Yes, its a mensicus transplant. I chose to have it done since I was 35, had no functional medial meniscus, and wanted to resume/keep an active lifestyle. It's a big deal surgery, and there are only a few people who can do them. It was my last hope for a pain free lifestyle...and so far its a complete success.

The criteria I focused on were based on age, existence of previous arthritis, knee condition (i.e. laxicity, etc.), and the patient's willingness/ability to go through a difficult rehab. Since I was perfect for all three, I went for it!!! There may be other medical requirements, but these are the main things I recall.

This board was a great resource for rehab, commisurating, etc. I can't imagine not having had the help from so many contributors.
