If you're in Southern California and have Kaiser insurance, I recommend Tadashi Funahashi in Orange County, CA. Did great work on my knee. I'm 1 year out, and x-rays show that spacing is normal. I don't have pain where other people have pain. The bone screws the doc used turned to bone and can't be differentiated from other bone in the x-rays. The bone defect from where they took the patella tendon graft has healed in nicely. Doc did a bang up job.
And I loved his attitude and manners - he's the Chief Orthopedic surgeon and he never talked down to me. He answers questions seriously, and if you bring up case studies and results from studies, he doesn't blow anything off - he gets excited and really gets into the discussion. I'm sending this guy a Harry and David gift tower.
If you're PPO, try Bert Mandelbaum in Santa Monica. He's kinda hung up on using cadaver grafts though, but might use other things if you ask. I hear good things about him, and went to him for consultation, but I didn't like his arrogant attitude.
