ACL Reconstruction / Jon Doe or Hamstring?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I'm a 33 y/o male with no previous knee problems other than the occasional strain. I've been an active martial artist for over 15 years and had a freak accident about 10 days which left me with a completely torn ACL. My doctor (new) explained to me that the ACL was completely "gone" and surgery is the only choice if I want to return to my activities at some point.
Luckily, he determined that my ROM was remarkable good for this type of injury and I would not need to wait or go through preop PT before surgery.
The only thing is that he insisted that an allograft was the best way to go. In his opinion, a 33 yo male should not risk using the hamstring because it could further hinder the use of the leg (high kicks / stretching etc).
Of course I want to clear this up as quickly as possible, but I'm nervous about using a peice from a cadaver (infection? not as stable?.
I'm scheduled for surgery next Tuesday, but just in case I'm going for a second opinion the day before. The second opinion is really for the choice of surgery though becuase it seems there is no other choice.
Is the allograft procedure inferior to using a piece of my own hamstring? How much of a risk is it to opt for that instead?
Thanks again for reading and I apologize for the lack of medical terms and spelling. I'm a total noob to this and it's all happening kind of quickly so I haven't had much time to learn all that there is to learn about this.
