Personal experiences with autographs, and quite happy with it.

My OS discouraged allos (higher failure rate), but even before they did I had a fear of donor quality issues.

Yes, the harvest site hurts for a bit. But I've had both a hamstring and a patella, and discovered it's not the harvest site that bothered me the most. It's from the drilling in the tibia for placing the graft, and even an allo has that issue.

My OS would discourage a straight ahead runner from a rebuild, and just try rehab only first. That said, he also said he'd rebuild a 70 year old who was a serious alpine skier.
