Hi,
I need a secondary reconstruction and my surgeon has mentioned lars as an option. My recovery after a hamstring ACL repair was good, (but slow) until I blew the graft about 13 months after initial recon.
I've heard horror stories about long term pain with patella recon's, and I've heard some good things about superfast rehab times for LARS. But I've also heard that there aren't any long term studies about LARS effectiveness and that when other types of artificial Ligaments have torn they can cause serious damage to a person's knee.
HAs anyone here had a LARS graft longer than ten years ago. Or even torn a lars graft??
I'd love to try out this technology, but as I'm only 22, the idea of stuffing up my knee enitrely in ten or fifteen years time is not appealing at all, and I'd love to get some more information to make an informed decision
Thanks
Stacey
