Consent to Meniscus Surgery = Sign Me up for Premature Arthritis!

I had my ACL reconstructed about 6.5 years ago with a hamstring autograft. In January, I am scheduled to undergo a partial meniscectomy, and I can't help but think only negative thoughts! How did you guys mentally prepare yourselves for your meniscectomies? Do not read further if you don't want to be depressed or get easily annoyed with adults who whine.
I'm still a few weeks away, but I feel like I just joined a waiting list for premature osteoarthritis and a lifetime of limitations. I mean, sure I'll be able to swim and walk pain free for the next 10 years or so. But every time I want to ski, or run, or take a boxing class, or dance, or even wear high heels I imagine I will feel like, "oh boy, deposit another penny in the arthritis bank! I'm one day closer to arthritis now!" It seems like, no matter how little the surgeon cuts out, I'm guaranteed premature arthritis. I'm 29 and I am just so sad thinking about being 39 and having osteoarthritis!
Seriously, give me some good thoughts! I need some positive people!!
