I am pretty convinced that patella autograft tendon is the way to go based on the preponderance of evidence. My daughter who is the one to have the surgery said she is good for any amount of short term pain that for long term gain. My wife who is concerned for our daughter about long term patella tendonitis and pain in general is having second thoughts. So she spoke to a surgeon at Kerlan Jobe who only does allograft in young patients. I didn't speak to him but told my wife to ask him to show us any long term study in a peer review publication that shows allograft is as good as autograft.
Here's what he came back with. Comments please?
I'm suspicious of the 10.5% lost for follow up and their self defined definition of failure.
Thank you
