Braces

Due to
the fact that I messed my knee up many moons ago, and I would hate to miss bird
season this year. I am putting off the surgery for a bit (what difference is a
few months going to make since it has been over 15 years since my original
injury?). My OS strongly recommended I get a brace to get through hunting
season, so I made the appointment to get fitted for a brace. The big question
is....Based on your experience is there one brace that is better than another,
or is it an individual preference kind of thing?
Thanks,
-Matt

Matt,
Your
point about waiting has its validity, just don't do anything while hunting to
injure your knee more. You won't be in a situation like I was where ski patrol
can just roll you onto a sled and fly down the mountain with you. My guess is
it would probably be difficult to get you out of the field, unless they can
chopper you out. LOL!!
Read
Michael Frind's articles re: bracing. He typically links them to his messages
or you can go to the search engine, select 'eons', change the search criteria
to by person then enter his name. His titles are descriptive of the subject
matter. Michael is NOT affiliated with any brace manufacturer and has looked at
many different types. His evaluations even include such things as the warranty.
Best of
luck,
Lois
